Greenwood Care

Greenwood Care is an Intermediate Care Facility with 145 beds for the chronically mentally ill. Our facility is located at 1406 Chicago Avenue in Evanston, Illinois.

Greenwood Care is a smaller, intimate facility providing specialized individual care for adults with mental illness.

Greenwood Care is licensed by the State of Illinois and is approved for Medicaid, Medicaid Pending and many private insurances. We are located near walking distance to Lake Michigan, Downtown Evanston and local parks, shops, cafes and churches.

We treat a variety of mental illnesses in our residential housing setting, including Schizo-Affective Disorder, Major Depression, Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia , as well as those who are dually diagnosed with a mental illness and substance abuse. 

Our psych-social rehabilitation programs include anger management, substance abuse groups & medication management. 

Greenwood Care provides  24 hour, 7 day a week crisis intervention, assessment as part of our admission service. Our staff of licensed nurses, certified nursing assistants, case managers, consulting psychologists and physicians provide confidential assessments and care plans for psychiatric behavioral problems.

Greenwood Care, located in Evanston, Illinois, provides psychiatric rehabilitation in a residential setting for chronically mentally ill adults, throughout all of the greater Chicagoland area, including, but not limited to Skokie, Niles, Lincolnwood, Northbrook,Wilmette and the North-side of Chicago.

Greenwood Care will be participating in NAMIWalks, a 5k walk supporting the mission-driven work of NAMI organizations, which host education programs, facilitate support groups, provide mental health trainings, advocate for access to services, and offer a compassionate place to turn for the millions of Americans living with mental illness.
